Context

What Nanonets is and what Data Alchemy does

Nanonets targets finance, operations and supply chain teams, from SMEs to enterprise, for building no-code agents and workflows. Business rules are encoded in workflows (context graph); extraction uses Nanonets' proprietary OCR-3 model, with third-party model integration; connectors include Gmail and Outlook as well as ERPs and CRMs such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Sage, Odoo and Salesforce. Pricing is pay-as-you-go credits per workflow block run; hosting is available in US, EU or APAC regions, including VPC, single-tenant cloud or on-premise.

Data Alchemy, by CDBKR Srl, headquartered in Bologna, is an Intelligent Document Processing platform for Italian SMEs and companies: it reads invoices (including FatturaPA/SdI XML), delivery notes, orders, contracts and price lists, validates them against ERP data with external fields and remote validation (Business and Enterprise) and writes them into the ERP or, with Order Dispatcher, into Salesforce (Enterprise). For each document model you choose the engine: Claude by default, GPT, Data Alchemy AI (the proprietary model, on its own servers and GPUs in Italy) or a compatible model through the European providers Scaleway and Regolo.ai.

Differences

What Data Alchemy offers as a Nanonets alternative

Italian ERPs

Integrations with Zucchetti and TeamSystem, plus SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Oracle NetSuite, and reading of FatturaPA/SdI XML e-invoices.

One credit per document

1 credit = 1 document, whatever its number of pages: the cost of a delivery note or a long contract doesn't grow with its pages.

Validation against ERP data

With external fields and remote validation (Business and Enterprise), the data read by the AI is checked against your ERP master data before it is written.

Mail service at your premises

The Mail service is installed at the customer's premises (on-premise): mailboxes and credentials stay in your infrastructure and only emails matching a model reach Data Alchemy (Business and Enterprise).

One engine per document model

For each document type you choose the engine: Claude by default, GPT, Data Alchemy AI (the proprietary model, on its own servers and GPUs in Italy) or a compatible model through the European providers Scaleway and Regolo.ai. Accuracy: 99.8% (measured with Claude).

From PDF orders to Salesforce

Order Dispatcher turns the order read by the AI into a draft order in Salesforce, already filled in and with the original PDF attached (Enterprise).

Nanonets pricing

Nanonets pricing and Data Alchemy's model compared

The units of measure differ: Data Alchemy counts documents, Nanonets counts workflow block runs, other tools count pages. Example: a 4-page delivery note counts as 1 credit in Data Alchemy, 4 pages for a vendor that prices per page and N block runs in Nanonets, where N depends on how many blocks the workflow runs on that document.

Honest take

When Data Alchemy isn't the right fit

There are cases where another solution, Nanonets included, is a better fit. Better to say so up front.

You want to build your own no-code agents and workflows

If your team wants to assemble its own no-code agents and workflows connecting international tools such as Gmail, Outlook and Salesforce or ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage and Odoo, Nanonets is designed for that. Data Alchemy starts from document models connected to your ERP; it isn't a general-purpose workflow builder.

You need the whole platform on-premise

Data Alchemy installs only the Mail service at the customer's premises; the platform runs on Scaleway. If you need the whole platform installed on-premise, Nanonets also states VPC, single-tenant cloud and on-premise options.

Very high volumes of single-page documents via API

If a development team processes very high volumes of single-page documents via API only, a per-page API costs less per document.

You want a public self-service price list

If you want to start high volumes from a public self-service price list, without a quote, Data Alchemy doesn't offer one: Basic, Business and Enterprise licences are on quote.

Migration

Moving from Nanonets to Data Alchemy in 5 steps

1. Map documents and fields

List the document types you process today, the fields you extract and where they end up (ERP, CRM, spreadsheets).

2. Create the document models

One model per document type, with the fields to extract and the AI engine chosen for each.

3. Move the rules onto the ERP

The rules currently encoded in workflows become checks against ERP data with external fields and remote validation (Business and Enterprise).

4. Connect email and ERP

Install the Mail service at your premises for the invoice and order mailboxes and set up writing into the ERP or, for orders, into Salesforce with Order Dispatcher (Enterprise).

5. Run in parallel, then go live

Process the same documents with both systems for a period, compare the results on your data and move the flows over one process at a time.
