Data Alchemy — Software IDP con AI
Comparison · ERP built-in AI

Data Alchemy or your ERP's built-in AI? When one is enough and when you need the other

If you already use TeamSystem or Zucchetti and mainly need automatic bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and invoice reading, the AI built into the ERP is often the simplest choice. A dedicated IDP such as Data Alchemy is needed when the documents to read are not tax documents, such as customer orders in PDF, delivery notes, price lists and contracts, or when data must be validated and brought into several systems.

On this page we report what the official TeamSystem and Zucchetti sources state about their AI features, when each solution fits and how they can work together: Data Alchemy writes data directly into Zucchetti and TeamSystem.

We report only what is described on the official pages consulted on 25 September 2026. Features not mentioned here are not detailed on the pages consulted: the vendor's website is the reference for the full picture.

TeamSystem

TeamSystem describes artificial intelligence features in its software, aimed at SMEs and professionals, and invoice and receipt recognition in Fatture in Cloud.

  • →Automatic bookkeeping
  • →Bank reconciliation
  • →Fatture in Cloud Genius: reading of invoices and receipts sent to a dedicated email address or via a Chrome plug-in
  • →Native features within the TeamSystem software, tied to product licences

A good fit for: Companies and firms already on TeamSystem that want automatic bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and invoice and receipt reading inside their own software

AI engine, hosting and pricing of the individual AI feature: not detailed on the pages consulted.

Zucchetti

Zucchetti describes artificial intelligence features in its software, aimed particularly at accounting firms.

Features described in the sources

  • →Assisted invoice booking
  • →Data acquisition from the Italian Revenue Agency
  • →Bank reconciliation
  • →Native features within the Zucchetti software, tied to product licences

A good fit for: Firms and companies already on Zucchetti that want assisted invoice booking, data acquisition from the Italian Revenue Agency and bank reconciliation

Email handling, AI engine, hosting and pricing of the individual AI feature: not detailed on the pages consulted.

When to use which

When your ERP's AI is enough and when you need a dedicated IDP

When your ERP's AI is enough

  • →Your documents are mostly XML e-invoices, which arrive already structured from the Italian exchange system (SdI).
  • →You work with a single ERP, TeamSystem or Zucchetti, and want everything to stay inside it.
  • →You are an accounting firm and need booking, bank reconciliation and data from the Italian Revenue Agency.
  • →You prefer one vendor and one contract for both ERP and AI features.

When you need a dedicated IDP

  • →Your documents are not tax documents: customer orders in PDF or Excel, delivery notes, price lists, contracts.
  • →You use several ERPs, or an ERP together with Salesforce, and data has to reach more than one system.
  • →Extracted data must be validated against master data before it is written: product codes, customer code, delivery location.
  • →You want to choose the AI engine for each document model and read mailboxes with a service installed at your premises.

The two options are not mutually exclusive: many companies leave e-invoices to the ERP's AI and use an IDP for the documents the ERP still receives as PDFs.

Working together

Data Alchemy writes into Zucchetti and TeamSystem

Data Alchemy does not replace the ERP: it reads documents with AI, validates them against the ERP's master data and writes the data into Zucchetti or TeamSystem through the AI agent or an integration built on Data Alchemy's REST API and webhooks. People who work in the ERP keep working there, with the data already entered.

In the Business and Enterprise licences, external fields and remote validation check extracted data against the ERP during extraction, and the Mail service installed at your premises reads company mailboxes without credentials or emails leaving your perimeter. For each document model you choose the engine: Claude by default, GPT, Data Alchemy AI (the proprietary model, on its own servers and GPUs in Italy) or a compatible model through the European providers Scaleway and Regolo.ai. With Data Alchemy AI and the European providers, processing stays in Europe; with Claude and GPT, documents are processed by the respective providers under a DPA.

Honesty

When Data Alchemy isn't the right fit

For many companies that already use TeamSystem or Zucchetti, adding an IDP is not necessary. These are the most common cases.

E-invoices only, a single ERP

If you receive almost only XML e-invoices and work with a single ERP that already has AI features, staying within the ERP is the most straightforward route.

Accounting firms working on clients' books

Assisted invoice booking, bank reconciliation and data acquisition from the Italian Revenue Agency are features described by the ERPs' AI and work directly on the firm's accounting data.

One vendor, one contract

If it matters to your organisation to get ERP and AI from the same vendor, with the features tied to the product licences you already use, the ERP's AI meets that need.

No documents outside the tax perimeter

If you do not receive customer orders, delivery notes, price lists or contracts to read and enter, a dedicated IDP would add a system without a concrete use case.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: ERP AI or IDP?

What does TeamSystem's AI do with documents?

According to the official pages consulted on 25 September 2026, TeamSystem describes automatic bookkeeping and bank reconciliation in its software and, with Fatture in Cloud Genius, the reading of invoices and receipts sent to a dedicated email address or via a Chrome plug-in. The features are native to TeamSystem products; AI engine, hosting and pricing of the individual feature are not detailed on the pages consulted.

What does Zucchetti's AI do with invoices and orders?

The official pages consulted describe assisted invoice booking, data acquisition from the Italian Revenue Agency and bank reconciliation, with particular attention to accounting firms. Reading customer orders is not detailed on the pages consulted: it is worth asking Zucchetti for the full scope.

What is the difference between ERP OCR and an IDP?

The ERP's AI works inside that vendor's products, on the features it describes: in the sources consulted, bookkeeping, invoices and bank reconciliation. An IDP such as Data Alchemy is a separate platform that reads several document types (customer orders, delivery notes, price lists, contracts, invoices), validates them against master data and writes them into one or more systems: Zucchetti, TeamSystem, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle NetSuite and, with the Enterprise licence, Salesforce.

If I already have TeamSystem or Zucchetti, do I need Data Alchemy?

Not necessarily. If your documents are mostly e-invoices and you work in a single ERP, the built-in AI is often enough. Data Alchemy becomes useful when you need to read non-tax documents such as customer orders in PDF, delivery notes, price lists or contracts, validate them against master data or bring data into several systems.

Can Data Alchemy and the ERP's AI work together?

Yes. Data Alchemy writes data directly into Zucchetti and TeamSystem through the AI agent or an integration built on the REST API and webhooks, after validating it against master data. A common split is to leave e-invoices to the ERP and give Data Alchemy the orders and other documents that arrive as PDFs.

Does Data Alchemy also read e-invoices?

Yes, Data Alchemy also handles FatturaPA and SdI XML, as well as PDF invoices, delivery notes, orders, price lists and contracts. However, if e-invoices are the only document you need to handle and you use a single ERP, the ERP's AI is usually the most direct route.

How does the cost of the ERP's AI compare with Data Alchemy?

For TeamSystem and Zucchetti, the pages consulted tie the AI features to product licences without detailing the price of the individual feature. Data Alchemy uses a licence (Basic, Business or Enterprise) plus pay-as-you-go credits, with 1 credit = 1 document whatever its number of pages; quotes are on request.
